Every year as my birthday approaches, I begin to reflect on the year gone by and what I managed to accomplish in the 365 that elapse between my January 1st birthday and it's next instance. When I was younger, I was constantly hard on myself, focusing on the empty half of the glass as opposed to the half that's full. One day I stumbled onto what would become one of my life mantras, a poem called "Desiderata".
